Mexican Consulate in Miami, Florida, and Box Gallery West Palm Beach – 2021
Threded: El Hilo Conductor exhibition presented the work of six Latin-American textile artists based in Miami: Monica Avayou, Sharon Berebichez, Aurora Molina, Evelyn Politzer, Yolanda Sánchez, and Laura Villarreal. Through their usage of textiles and colorful fibers, these artists highlighted the role of women in society. The exhibition was complemented with a performance of Mexican-American multimedia artist and poet Danie Gomez-Ortigoza.
